As part of the plan to expand the Hospital’s NICU department, the existing Dialysis Suite was relocated to an area on the first floor. The new space features six Dialysis bays and one Private Treatment room all of which are visible from the centrally located Nurses Station. Wood veneer finishes, whimsical floor patterns and gaming stations provide a comfortable atmosphere for patients during their treatment.

Space for CHOP’s new Nephrology Clinic was gained by incorporating an underutilized corridor into the layout. The medical service head walls of each of the eight exam rooms incorporated the additional requirements of the nearby Emergency Department allowing the suite to function as overflow space during after hours operation or for crisis situations.
