An existing shell space in the lower level of the Young Pavilion was fit out for a new shielded Linear Accelerator Treatment room and support spaces. The design process required close coordination of the medical department leads and A/E team with the manufacturer’s multi-national equipment engineers. Through this collaboration, the teams had to address preparations and modifications of the existing building structure for shielding requirements and all strategic control & utility feeds between rooms.
