An existing shell space in the lower level of the Young Pavilion was fit out for a new dual-purpose RF shielded MRI / PET scan room enclosure and support spaces. Design of the scanning room required coordination of individual equipment requirements for both the new GE MRI unit and future Top Grade PET unit. A combined Control Room allows visual access to the patient in either of the two work zones. Nearby, a former waiting room was converted into (3) areas to accommodate Patient Uptake of radioactive tracers before the PET scan.
